Congratulations to our 2017 Scholarship Recipient!

Kaitlin Burkhardt, a junior at MSU Denver, has a love of travel rooted deeply in her bones. Her parents owned an air ambulance company and later her father became a corporate pilot, leading to frequent family trips around the United States. In 2015, she spent three months sailing from South Africa to the Caribbean, solidifying her career goal of entering the travel industry. Kaitlin is majoring in Hospitality, Tourism and Events, with a concentration in Travel and Tourism, and is the first recipient of GBTA-RM’s Annual Student Membership Scholarship. Supported by the generosity of chapter members, the scholarship provides opportunities for exemplary students in MSU Denver’s Hospitality, Tourism and Events program to gain valuable business travel experience and industry connections. By paying for attendance at GBTA-RM events, the scholarship complements classroom and textbook lessons on travel and tourism theories and offers opportunities for future employment in the industry. Please welcome Kaitlin at future luncheons!
